What do you do with furniture that will not fit?
Less square footage means less room for everything you own. Furniture is usually the first problem. You probably cannot bring all of it, and the pieces you do keep need to actually fit in the new rooms. Before you pack a single box, measure the furniture you plan to keep and compare those numbers against the room dimensions in your new place. Ask yourself the hard questions:
- Will the big sectional still fit in the new family room?
- Will the new master bedroom be big enough for the bed plus nightstands?
- Where will my large holiday decorations be stored?
Once you know what furniture is coming with you, it gets easier to figure out what to do with the smaller items.
How do you decide what to get rid of?
