Moving FAQ’s

by | Sep 3, 2023

Every person has or will move at some point in their lives – whether it’s for college, to go for that dream job or to get a bigger space. Whatever the reason, everyone can attest to the fact that moving is a complicated process that can be overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time or if you haven’t moved in a while. You need to coordinate a lot of details, and you need to move quickly.

Movers in Tampa Answer These Questions Most Frequently

In order make the move easier for you, here are some of the most common questions people ask movers in Tampa about moving and their answers.

Question: How long do you need to plan ahead?

Answer: It would be smart to have at least a month before the move, so you can handle all your affairs in your old place while sorting the logistics where you’ll be moving. You need longer, at least 3 months, if you’re selling your old place and using the money to move into a new one. You will need a good realtor to help you sell the property and even another one to find you a new one.

In this time, you also need to handle your utilities, tell your landlord, cancel subscriptions or get them transferred, de-clutter your home and pack all of your things. Sorting all of these out can take time, so allow yourself some leeway.

Question: Do you need a mover?

Answer: It depends. There are few considerations you have to think about when deciding whether you want the professionals to do it or not. The first is whether you have a lot of stuff or not. If you’re only moving into a dorm, with a couple of boxes to transport, there’s really very little need for movers. However, if you’re moving an entire 3-bedroom home worth of stuff across the country, then it might be more practical to just seek out a mover.

Also, consider whether you have experience moving or not. If you genuinely think you cannot move all of the things in your apartment on your own, don’t — especially if you don’t have friends and family around to help you.

Question: Where do you get boxes?

Answer: You can reuse boxes, which will be more affordable, from other people who have moved. Some people sell them online.  Most of them are still in pretty good condition. However, if you’re not comfortable with that, you can buy new ones at any supply or hardware store. Make sure to also get packaging tape, so you can securely seal the boxes once you’re done packing.  Some moving companies also offer a discount on supplies and boxes when you use their services.

Adan and Fil were efficient and handled items with care. I would use them again.
These guys were great. Very polite and professional. Hard workers and the move went well with no damages! And Gary is very patient with me as I had difficulties trying to get him paid through Zelle and had to get a business check but he was very patient and we got it all figured out. I would recommend this company for local moves.
Highly recommend this company. From estimate to final move, we received the best service from the office staff who explained and answered all our questions and the 2 young men who moved us taking all precautions with our items. Thank you for your transparency and professionalism.
